Height - 4-5m (12-15ft) in the U.K. Best in a sheltered position (from cold, drying winds) in partial-shade and humus-rich, well-drained soil.

'Fishpole Bamboo'. A clump-forming erect bamboo with grooved bright mid-green canes, becoming yellow-brown with age. Narrow yellowish to golden-green leaves. Phyllostachys nigra - 200/250cm 18L
‘Black Bamboo’. Can be grown in containers. Shiny, jet black canes form tall tidy clumps. The small pale green leaves enhance the dark canes. The young canes, green at first, turn black over a two or three year period. Full sun ripens the canes best, but the plants must not dry out. Height & Spread - 5 x 1.5 m (17 x 5 ft).
